Historique

History
The church is not mentioned before the mid-13th century (1255 and 1269). However, the non-remodelled parts of the nave appear to date from the 12th century. In the 14th century, Saint-Saturnin is mentioned as a parish church in papal registers. A priory existed, under the title of Saint-Sernin, united to the cathedral chapter of Carcassonne. Today, it is no more than a simple vicarial chapel. The building has a single nave (12th century), unvaulted, with pentagonal chevet (end of 13th century) vaulted with ribs. On either side of the nave, facing each other, are found the baptismal fonts and the chapel of Sainte-Germaine. The bell-wall (14th century) presents an elongated gable with recesses, with five openings. The cross antéfixe which dominates all is of the type with four opposed arcs of circles, with hollow at centre. The presbytery house is a building contiguous to the church, to the south. The first floor is pierced by an opening divided into two twin windows.
