Historique
Les moines de Saint-Florent de Saumur possédaient un prieuré à Saint-Clémentin au 11e siècle. Ils prirent aussi possession de l'église paroissiale d'origine romane. Elle fut refaite en partie au 15e siècle, début 16e. Au cours des guerres de Religion, les Protestants la dévastèrent. L'église, qui présentait une nef, un choeur et une chapelle attenante à la nef (chevet plat), dut être refaite au 19e siècle par l'architecte Jousset. Le nouvel édifice et la flèche furent construits entre 1878 et 1882. Seul le clocher-porche des 15e-16e siècles est d'origine. Il est cantonné de contreforts saillants. Le portail est sommé d'un gâble à fleuron avec deux pinacles latéraux. A l'intérieur, le premier niveau est recouvert d'une voûte bombée sur croisées d'ogives à huit quartiers. History
The monks of Saint-Florent of Saumur possessed a priory at Saint-Clémentin in the 11th century. They also took possession of the original Romanesque parish church. It was partially remade in the 15th century, early 16th. During the Wars of Religion, the Protestants devastated it. The church, which presented a nave, a choir and a chapel adjacent to the nave (flat chevet), had to be rebuilt in the 19th century by architect Jousset.
