Historique
Ce château ducal a été fondé par Guillaume le Conquérant. Le donjon a été réparé aux 14e et 15e siècles. La tour octogonale date de la fin du 13e ou du début du 14e siècle. La tour du Chartier a été transformée au 19e siècle, le logis a été démoli, une maison de maître a été construite dans l'enceinte du château par Théodore Huchon, vers 1870.

History
This ducal castle was founded by William the Conqueror. The keep was repaired in the 14th and 15th centuries. The octagonal tower dates from the late 13th or early 14th century. The Chartier tower was transformed in the 19th century, the main dwelling was demolished, and a master house was built within the castle's walls by Théodore Huchon, around 1870.
