Historique
Jean de Salagnac, protonotaire du Saint-Siège, prieur du Cercle de Talmont en Saintonge, curé de Treignac et Neuvic, chanoine de Périgueux, hérita de la seigneurie de Vicq en 1515 et y fit construire le château. Le corps de logis et les dépendances furent bâties au 17e siècle. Le domaine se compose d'un corps de logis rectangulaire avec deux petites ailes d'habitation dans l'axe et deux grandes ailes de dépendances en retour. Au nord, la façade principale a gardé son homogénéité d'origine. A l'intérieur, au centre du bâtiment, se trouve l'escalier droit, à deux volées avec paliers de repos. Il a une balustrade en bois dont les balustres sont en candélabres. L'escalier desservait deux pièces de part et d'autre, à chaque niveau, avec plafonds à la française.

History
Jean de Salagnac, protonotary of the Holy See, prior of the Circle of Talmont in Saintonge, curate of Treignac and Neuvic, canon of Périgueux, inherited the seigneury of Vicq in 1515 and had the château built there. The body of dwelling and the outbuildings were built in the 17th century. The estate consists of a rectangular body of dwelling with two small wings of habitation in the axis and two large wings of outbuildings in return. To the north, the principal façade has retained its original homogeneity. Inside, at the centre of the building, is the straight staircase, with two flights and landing platforms. It has a wooden balustrade with balusters in candlestick form. The staircase served two rooms on either side, at each level, with French-style ceilings.
