History

The château comprises a rectangular main dwelling of the 17th century, an oblong pavilion of the 19th century at the west end, with an engaged tower of the same period on its western façade, a rectangular entrance avant-corps with chamfered angles raised in the 19th century in front of the north façade, a round tower also 19th century at the south-east angle of the main dwelling and a 19th-century chapel at the north-east angle of the main dwelling. The dovecote is of the 17th century. The stables date from the 19th century. Inside the château, the rooms are adorned with panelling. At the centre of the main dwelling rises the spiral staircase turning to the right, with straight flights and central opening, inscribed in a square cage. It is in wood with flat balusters, joined at their base and top by moulded arches, a characteristic feature of Limousin staircases of the 17th century. The stained glass windows of the chapel were made by Henri Feur (1884).
