Historique
Ancien monastère de femmes fondé en 1142 et rattaché à l'ordre cistercien en 1147, en activité jusqu'en 1790. Il comptait 150 moniales à la fin du 12e siècle, et dépendait de l'abbaye d'Aubazine. Les fouilles montrent que le monastère avait été bâti sur une terrasse artificielle construite aux dépens du torrent du Coyroux dont le lit dut être détourné. Mise à jour des fondations et parties du dallage des bâtiments en usage du 12e au 16e siècle, ainsi que des ruines de l'église. L'église des 12e-13e siècle, de plan rectangulaire, présente des voûtes en briques et à nervures de grès gris effondrées, et des colonnettes correspondant aux retombées des nervures des voûtes. Les bâtiments monastiques s'échelonnent du 12e au 17e siècle.

History
Former convent of women founded in 1142 and attached to the Cistercian order in 1147, active until 1790. It numbered 150 nuns at the end of the 12th century, and was dependent on the abbey of Aubazine. Excavations show that the monastery had been built on an artificial terrace constructed at the expense of the Coyroux torrent whose bed had to be diverted. Uncovering of the foundations and parts of the flooring of buildings in use from the 12th to the 16th century, as well as ruins of the church. The church of the 12th-13th centuries, of rectangular plan, presents brick vaults and ribs of grey sandstone which have collapsed, and small columns corresponding to the springing of the vault ribs. The monastic buildings span from the 12th to the 17th century.
