Historique

History
The church is composed of a nave covered by exposed roof structure and a circular apse vaulted with a cul-de-four. A single narrow window opened in the axis of the apse, surmounted on the exterior by an arch cut into a stone lintel. Here we find the type of windows of the oldest churches of Corsica. In the interior, the floor is covered with stone flagging, in which a square trapdoor allowed access to a basement now filled in. A stone bench runs partly along each of the lateral walls of the nave. The analogies with churches built in the 12th century by the Pisans allow us to think that this chapel was built at that period. The small bell tower which surmounts the south façade was added at a later date. At the beginning of the 16th century, a Trinity was painted on the vault of the apse. Standing out against a starry background, God the Father bears the ends of the cross on which Christ is found. On his breast, the Holy Spirit is represented by a dove. Angels accompany the main motif. On the left, the Virgin was to be balanced by a figure placed on the right and now disappeared.
