Historique
Fondée en 1590, la confrérie de l'Immaculée Conception de Bastia fit bâtir sa chapelle en 1611. C'est un simple rectangle aux élévations maçonnées. Un premier décor intérieur de 1618 est conservé dans ses grandes lignes : voûte en berceau percée de lunettes ; rythme vertical marqué par des pilastres corinthiens soutenant un riche entablement à modillons. En 1701 et 1704, deux petites chapelles sont créées dans l'épaisseur des murs de la nef. Le maître-autel de 1763 et les autels latéraux témoignent de l'enrichissement de la chapelle pendant le 18e siècle. Dernière campagne de travaux en 1802 : peintures murales et gypseries dorées (1806).

History
Founded in 1590, the confraternity of the Immaculate Conception of Bastia had its chapel built in 1611. It is a simple rectangle with masonry elevations. Early interior decoration from 1618 is preserved in its main features: barrel vault pierced with lunettes; vertical rhythm marked by Corinthian pilasters supporting a rich entablature with modillions. In 1701 and 1704, two small chapels are created in the thickness of the walls of the nave. The high altar of 1763 and the side altars bear witness to the enrichment of the chapel during the 18th century. Last campaign of work in 1802: wall paintings and gilded plasterwork (1806).
