Historique
Fondation par les moines de saint Colomban. Rattaché ensuite à la règle de saint Benoît, mais dépendant de l'abbaye de Saint-Florent-le-Vieil, près d'Angers. History
Foundation by the monks of saint Columban. Subsequently attached to the rule of saint Benedict, but dependent on the abbey of Saint-Florent-le-Vieil, near Angers. During the Norman invasions, the monks of Saint-Florent came to take refuge at the monastery of Saint-Gondon, with the body of saint Philibert then, from there, departed to Tournus. The first charters date from 866. On the Carolingian bases were attached, in the 15th century, the tower of brick and stone with spiral staircase, the large windows with mullions and stone frames, and the fireplace of the great hall. The whole presents a single main dwelling body, at two levels over basement, of rectangular plan, with a semi-engaged prismatic stair turret, of octagonal section.
