La seigneurie de Huisseau-sur-Mauves relevait de l'évêché d'Orléans. Elle avait droit de haute, moyenne et basse justice. Le 18 juin 1429, Huisseau est délivré des Anglais par les troupes de Jeanne d'Arc. L'entrée du château s'ouvre entre deux tourelles encadrant le porche du 15e siècle. Le château lui-même, entouré de douves, a été restauré au 18e siècle. Il se compose de deux bâtiments en équerre avec un puits dans la cour intérieure, autrefois fermée par un bâtiment supplémentaire dont il reste les assises d'une quatrième tour. History
The seigneury of Huisseau-sur-Mauves fell under the bishopric of Orléans. It had the right of high, middle and low justice. On 18 June 1429, Huisseau is delivered from the English by the troops of Jeanne d'Arc. The entrance to the castle opens between two turrets framing the porch of the 15th century. The castle itself, surrounded by moats, was restored in the 18th century. It consists of two buildings at right angles with a well in the inner courtyard, formerly closed by an additional building of which remain the footings of a fourth tower. A vaulted tower with an oubliette and two fireplaces in the basement would date from the 12th century. A wrought-iron grille from the cathedral of Meaux closes the inner courtyard.
