Historique
La Touanne dépendait de la seigneurie de Montpipau. Le château actuel, dont la plus grande partie remonte au 17e siècle, présente un plan en H, c'est-à-dire des ailes en retour sur les deux façades du corps de bâtiment principal. La façade d'accueil au sud-ouest, vers la cour d'honneur, a certainement été reprise sous la Restauration (entablement remonté d'un demi étage pour supprimer les lucarnes). Un large perron central marque la base de quatre pilastres plats soutenant un fronton en tympan orné d'un oculi monumental à fronton saillant. De ce côté, l'aile de gauche en retour date du 18e siècle. La façade sur parc est d'origine, avec jambages et claveaux en briques et pierre. La cour d'honneur est précédée de fossés secs. De chaque côté, deux pavillons datent du 17e siècle.

History
La Touanne was dependent on the lordship of Montpipau. The present castle, most of which dates to the 17th century, presents an H-shaped plan, that is to say wings set back on both façades of the main building body. The reception façade to the south-west, towards the courtyard of honour, was certainly modified under the Restoration (entablature raised by half a storey to eliminate the dormers). A large central perron marks the base of four flat pilasters supporting a pediment with tympanum decorated with a monumental oculus with projecting pediment. On this side, the left wing set back dates from the 18th century. The façade facing the park is original, with jambs and voussoirs in brick and stone. The courtyard of honour is preceded by dry moats. On each side, two pavilions date from the 17th century.
