History
The church, which is found enclosed within the abbey grounds, must have preceded the present abbatial church, constructed in the 15th century. An inscription in the north transept arm of the church dates the foundation of the chapel dedicated to Saint-Jean-Baptiste to the 11th century. The choir and a large part of the transept were rebuilt in the 15th century. The present nave dates from 1862. The oldest part comprises the transept, with its apsidiole, the choir and the bell tower which rises over the crossing of the transept. In the angle of the choir and the south transept arm rises a polygonal staircase tower of the 15th century, leading to the bell tower.
