Cette église était desservie par les moines de l'abbaye bénédictine de Beaulieu-lès-Loches. Plan bénédictin à trois absides ouvrant sur le transept, précédé d'une nef charpentée plus large que la croisée. Au-dessus de l'arc triomphal en plein cintre, le mur est ajouré, comme dans certaines églises préromanes, de trois baies décorées de colonnettes à chapiteaux sculptés. Entre le carré du transept et les croisillons, sont bandés deux arcs en plein cintre, sans doute destinés à porter une tour centrale. Le choeur et les absidioles sont voûtés en cul de four. L'édifice paraît appartenir au 11e siècle dont il présente tous les caractères : construction en petit appareil, joints larges dans les parties en moyen appareil, trous de boulins appareillés... L'édifice doit avoir été édifié en deux campagnes, comme le laisse supposer une fenêtre murée plus ancienne. La nef serait contemporaine des fenêtres hautes du transept (fin du 11e siècle) , par conséquent postérieure au gros oeuvre du transept et des absides.

History
This church was served by the monks of the Benedictine abbey of Beaulieu-lès-Loches. Benedictine plan with three apses opening onto the transept, preceded by a timber-framed nave wider than the crossing. Above the round-arch triumphal arch, the wall is pierced, as in certain pre-Romanesque churches, with three openings decorated with small columns with sculpted capitals. Between the crossing square and the transept arms, two round arches are spanned, no doubt intended to support a central tower. The choir and apsidioles are vaulted in oven vault. The building appears to belong to the 11th century of which it presents all the characteristics: construction in small rubble stone, wide joints in the medium rubble stone sections, properly coursed putlog holes... The building must have been erected in two phases, as suggested by an older blocked window. The nave would be contemporary with the high windows of the transept (late 11th century), consequently posterior to the main structure of the transept and apses.
