History
Preceded by a porch added in the 15th century, the former parish church of Saint-Jean-sur-Indre presents a facade of the 12th century. The nave has guttering walls with small ashlar facing, belonging to a building of the 11th century. Covered in roof structure hidden by a false plaster vault, this nave ends in a 12th-century choir, vaulted on rib vault, and terminated by a flat wall pierced with a triplet in round arch. To the south was added, in the 15th century, a seigneurial chapel. The square base of the bell tower dates from the 12th century and the upper octagonal storey is modern.
