Historique

History
The abbey belonged, at least in part, to that of Noyers, which received it around 1080 as a gift from a knight of Montbazon who had taken religious vows in this monastery. The honorary rights belonged to the lord of Nouâtre who shared them with the lord of La Louère following an agreement established in 1638. Beneath a porch with round-arch arcades dating from the 17th century, a door gives access to the nave. A bay with rib vault situated beneath the bell tower follows it. In this bay opens to the south a chapel built in the 15th century by the lords of La Louère who had their burial place there. To the north, another chapel dates from the 16th century. The semi-circular apse presents itself as trapezoidal in the interior. The ribs of the vault rest on capitals decorated with human figures. The bell tower is pierced, on its four faces, with twin pointed-arch openings.
