Historique
Chéniers fut le siège d'une sergenterie fieffée. Fortifié et entouré de douves, le château fut construit au 16e siècle et agrandi au 17e. L'édifice comprend un corps de bâtiment d'habitation du 16e, au comble éclairé de lucarnes amorties par un gâble sculpté, et divisées par des croisées de pierre. Les percements des deux façades ont été modifiés au 17e siècle. Il fut agrandi à cette époque par un pavillon ajouté au nord, qui fait saillie sur la façade Est. Une tour cylindrique appartenait à l'enceinte du 16e siècle et est reliée au château par un bâtiment de servitude moderne. History
Chéniers was the seat of a fief sergenterie. Fortified and surrounded by ditches, the castle was built in the 16th century and enlarged in the 17th. The building comprises a residential block of the 16th, with roof space lit by dormers terminated by a sculpted gable, and divided by stone casements. The openings of the two façades were modified in the 17th century. It was enlarged at that time by a pavilion added to the north, which stands out on the East façade. A cylindrical tower belonged to the enclosure of the 16th century and is connected to the castle by a modern service building. The entrance door into the courtyard, round-arch, opens in a square pavilion accompanied by small service buildings, extended by modern buildings. To the west of the courtyard stands a service building whose round-arch door is accompanied by pilasters. To the south-west is found a small square pavilion also of the 17th century.
