History

The fief of l'Islette belonged to the house of Maillé since 1350. The castle was built around 1530 by the baron de Maillé, who engaged the workers who had worked on Azay-le-Rideau. The construction used a 15th-century building, in brick and stone, probably unfinished. The edifice was completed around 1535 by Charles de Maillé.
