History

The west façade is pierced by a round-arch doorway with two rolls, the second of which is circumscribed by a third voussoir, mounted later, in a pointed arch. The rolls rest on small columns whose capitals are decorated with foliage or fantastic animals. Access to the nave is also by a south lateral door dating from the 18th century, whose lintel is decorated with a medallion. The nave and rectangular choir, remade in the 18th century but retaining its 12th-century chevet, were restored internally in 1924, as were two lateral chapels. The bell tower flanks the church to the south. Its ground floor is covered with a rib vault resting on corbels, two of which are decorated with heads, a third with quatrefoils, the fourth with an escutcheon. Beneath the choir, a barrel-vaulted crypt was the burial crypt of the Richelieu family. Another crypt is situated beneath the north chapel.
