"Château édifié sur un éperon calcaire qui, selon la tradition, communiquait par signaux à feu avec Loches ou la tour de Galles. Des quatre tours qui flanquent le quadrilatère surmonté d'un chemin de ronde, subsistent deux tours qui ont été coiffées d'ardoises après le 15e siècle. La tour dite "du nord" présente une élévation qui, sans doute, permettait de voir jusqu'aux forteresses ou fortins des plateaux voisins. Les mâchicoulis sont conservés en totalité sur les deux tours, et en partie le long du chemin de ronde. Les deux autres tours ont été rasées. Vers 1830, destruction d'un bel escalier de pierre. Vers 1850, la foudre a incendié les greniers."

History
Castle built on a limestone spur which, according to tradition, communicated by fire signals with Loches or the tower of Galles. Of the four towers that flank the quadrilateral surmounted by a rampart walk, there remain two towers which have been capped with slates after the 15th century. The tower called "of the north" presents an elevation which, no doubt, allowed view as far as the fortresses or fortins of the neighbouring plateaux. The machicolations are preserved in their entirety on the two towers, and in part along the rampart walk. The two other towers were razed. Around 1830, destruction of a fine stone staircase. Around 1850, lightning set fire to the granaries.
