Vers la fin du 5e siècle, Saint-Perpet fonda une église à Ballan, à la place de laquelle fut élevé l'édifice actuel. Ce dernier se compose d'une nef du 11e siècle, précédée par un clocher carré à la façade occidentale duquel s'ouvre un portail à trois voussures qui ont perdu leur décor. La voûte et les fenêtres de la nef ont été refaites au 16e siècle, en même temps que l'édification du choeur, de l'abside semi octogonale, des deux chapelles latérales et de leurs absidioles semi-circulaires. Les fenêtres de l'abside, des absidioles et des chapelles conservent leurs vitraux du 16e siècle.

History
Towards the end of the 5th century, Saint-Perpet founded a church at Ballan, in place of which the present building was erected. The latter is composed of a nave of the 11th century, preceded by a square bell tower on the western façade of which opens a portal with three voussures which have lost their decoration. The vault and windows of the nave were remade in the 16th century, at the same time as the building of the choir, the semi-octagonal apse, the two lateral chapels and their semi-circular absidioles. The windows of the apse, the absidioles and the chapels retain their 16th century stained glass windows.
