History
This castle was dependent on that of Loches. In 1586, the castellany was raised to a viscountcy. In 1789, the marquis de Lusignan and the marquis de La Fayette were co-owners of it. The building consists of two perpendicular wings, raised one storey above ground level. The gables of the dormers have received modern decoration. At the common corner of the two building sections, a rectangular tower is perhaps of earlier origin than the rest of the castle.
