Ce portique s'étirait sur une longueur de 73m et comptait initialement quinze vastes niches, alternativement demi-circulaires et rectangularies. Neuf niches subsistent aujourd'hui, séparées en deux groupes, l'un de six, l'autre de trois, par les travaux de fondations de l'extrémité nord du palais ducal. Chacune d'elle est séparée de sa voisine par un mur de refend, axé en façade par un pilastre dorique à rudentures et cannelures, et sommé par un chapiteau dorique. Les arcades, affirmées par des archivoltes moulurées, prennent naissance sur des impostes encadrant les pilastres. La totalité du décor de façade est réalisée en pierre de taille de grand appareil. Le reste de l'édifice était construit en petit appareil à assises réglées avec cordons de briques. Ce monument devait être lié à une vaste aire publique, sans doute le forum, ou servir de bordure à une voie commerçante importante. C'est l'unique specimen préservé de la Gaule romaine.

History
This portico extended over a length of 73m and initially numbered fifteen vast niches, alternately semi-circular and rectangular. Nine niches remain today, separated into two groups, one of six, the other of three, by the foundation works at the north end of the ducal palace. Each one is separated from its neighbour by a load-bearing wall, emphasized on the façade by a doric pilaster with fluting and channels, and topped by a doric capital. The arcades, expressed by moulded archivolts, spring from imposts framing the pilasters. The whole of the façade decoration is executed in ashlar of large construction. The rest of the building was constructed in small construction with coursed ashlars and brick courses. This monument must have been connected to a vast public area, perhaps the forum, or served as an edge to an important commercial thoroughfare. It is the unique specimen preserved from Roman Gaul.
