History
Building erected between 1565 and 1569, at the time when the city is ravaged by the troops of the Huguenots. A facing of finely dressed stone is applied to the medieval structure of the house. This construction unites ornaments from Italy and French forms. Attempt at mannerist architecture in a medieval town, largely rebuilt in timber framing after the fire of 1487, this house is one of the rare realizations of the period of transition between the Renaissance and the classical architecture of the reign of Henri IV.
