Installé dans une maison du 15e siècle, en pierre et pans de bois, très remaniée, il dispose au rez-de-chaussée d'une meule verticale monolithe, du 19e siècle, sous laquelle étaient broyés les cerneaux préalablement triés et séparés des coquilles. Pivotant sur un lit de pierre, actionnée par un âne ou un cheval, cette meule de granit permettait d'obtenir la pâte. Celle-ci était ensuite chauffée à feu doux dans chaudron de cuivre. Après la cuisson, on procédait au passage sous le pressoir (à Pavent ?), constitué d'une poutre, fixée sur un châssis, et longue d'environ cinq mètres, ayant son axe de rotation à une extrémité et une vis à cabestan à l'autre extrémité, la pression, d'environ 30 tonnes pour un pressée de 20 kg de cerneaux, s'exerçant au dernier tiers de la poutre, près de l'axe de rotation.

History
Installed in a 15th-century house, in stone and timber framing, very much altered, it has on the ground floor a monolithic vertical millstone, of the 19th century, beneath which were ground the kernel nuts previously sorted and separated from the shells. Pivoting on a stone bed, operated by a donkey or a horse, this granite millstone allowed the paste to be obtained. This was then heated at low heat in a copper cauldron. After cooking, it was passed under the press (at Pavent?), consisting of a beam, fixed on a frame, and approximately five metres long, having its axis of rotation at one end and a capstan screw at the other end, the pressure, of approximately 30 tonnes for a pressing of 20 kg of kernel nuts, being exerted in the last third of the beam, near the axis of rotation.
