Castle certainly built in the 12th century to guard the ford of Talion. In 1586, it is taken and pillaged by the Protestants, then restored in the 17th century. In 1889, the castle is demolished and rebuilt in the fashion of the day by a pupil of Viollet-le-Duc, preserving the old foundations. The building is built on a terrace which overlooks the Agoût to the east. The three other sides are encircled by moats whose walls, on the park side, are rhythmed by pillars with balls from the 17th century. Two bridges span these moats to provide access to the two courtyards of the castle. The L-shaped plan of the castle creates an inner courtyard which is extended by a boxwood parterre in the French style. The English-style park develops to the south and west. A dovecote of Castrais type, on four stone pillars with mushroom caps and brick casing with lantern roof completes the whole. The interior preserves a staircase cage of Troubadour style, with ironwork railing with large volutes, a gallery opening by wide tribunes onto the staircase, an opening adorned with a painted stained-glass window representing Saint Michael and a ceiling with stucco decor. The ground floor preserves ceilings with stucco decor or in the French style, wall decor applied with Louis XVI woodwork, mosaic tilework.
