Vestige des anciennes fortifications, spécimen typique de porte fortifiée d'un village gascon au Moyen-Age. La porte est ouverte dans une des tours carrées qui assuraient le flanquement. Le rez-de-chaussée est ouvert par un arc légèrement brisé. Les portes se bloquaient contre l'extrados de cet arc au moyen de barres transversales. Les pièces des étages servaient de logement au garde qui fermait les portes chaque soir, et le jour en cas d'épidémie.

History
Vestige of the old fortifications, typical specimen of a fortified gateway of a Gascon village in the Middle Ages. The gate is opened in one of the square towers which ensured the flanking. The ground floor is opened by a slightly pointed arch. The doors blocked against the extrados of this arch by means of transverse bars. The rooms of the upper floors served as lodging for the guard who closed the doors each evening, and by day in case of epidemic.
