History

In 1774, after the death of Louis XV, Jean du Barry is disgraced and exiled to Paris. Then he obtains his pardon and returns to Toulouse where, in 1776, he purchases buildings and land overlooking place Saint-Raymond. In 1777, he undertakes the construction of the hotel which he wishes to give a lustre comparable to that of Versailles.
