Historique
Porte située sur une falaise à pic, construite en briques, sur plan carré. Elle comprend un rez-de-chaussée et trois étages. Au rez-de-chaussés s'ouvre un porte en tiers-point. L'arc est formé d'un double rang de briques disposées en clairveaux. Entre cet arc et celui qui lui fait suite, a été aménagée la coulisse dans laquelle se mouvait la herse. Au premier étage, une salle carrée destinée à la défense, est éclairée d'une fenêtre rectangulaire moderne. Le deuxième étage est percé de fenêtres en plein cintre datant sans doute d'un remaniement au 16e siècle, qui servaient de guet. Le troisième étage date du 17e siècle et servait de pigeonnier. Cette porte avec sa tour est l'un des rares vestiges d'architecture militaire dans cette région du Languedoc. Cette porte commande l'entrée du village et donne une idée de ce qu'étaient les anciennes portes des remparts de Toulouse aujourd'hui disparues.

History
Gate situated on a sheer cliff, built in brick, on a square plan. It comprises a ground floor and three storeys. On the ground floor opens a pointed arch gate. The arch is formed of a double row of bricks arranged in headers. Between this arch and the one that follows it, the groove was fitted in which the portcullis moved. On the first floor, a square room intended for defence, is lit by a modern rectangular window. The second floor is pierced by round arch windows dating no doubt from a reworking in the 16th century, which served as lookout points. The third floor dates from the 17th century and served as a dovecote. This gate with its tower is one of the rare vestiges of military architecture in this region of Languedoc. This gate commands the entrance to the village and gives an idea of what the old gates of the ramparts of Toulouse, now disappeared, were like.
