Au 12e siècle, les vicomtes de Lautrec avaient bâti un château sous lequel se développa le village. Brûlées par les bandes du Prince Noir en 1355, les fortifications furent relevées en 1356. Cette petite tour n'est qu'une partie de l'ancienne porte de ville fortifiée, et est bâtie en moellons et couronnée d'une poivrière en pierre. Elle représente l'un des rares vestiges des fortifications médiévales dans la Haute-Garonne.

History
In the 12th century, the viscounts of Lautrec had built a castle under which the village developed. Burnt by the bands of the Black Prince in 1355, the fortifications were rebuilt in 1356. This small tower is only part of the former fortified city gate, and is built in rubble stone and crowned with a stone pepperpot roof. It represents one of the rare remains of medieval fortifications in Haute-Garonne.
