Historique
Eglise du 12e siècle (nef) , fortement remaniée au 15e. Ravagé en 1360 lors du siège du château, l'édifice fut restauré et revoûté au début du 15e siècle : sept chapelles et un porche furent ajoutés. Les chapelles latérales présentent toutes un enfeu faisant face au chevet, disposition rare donnant l'aspect d'un passage muré après coup. Les voûtes nervées portent aux clés les blasons des seigneurs de Tournemire. L'ensemble est complété par un baldaquin Louis XIV. Intérieurement, l'église possède des chapiteaux romans ainsi que des chapiteaux du 15e siècle. L'église étant accolée à la montagne, l'entrée se fait latéralement, au sud, par un portail à archivolte moulurée. Au revers de la façade ouest est placée une tribune en bois à laquelle on accède par un escalier de pierre. Sur la première travée de la nef, s'élève un clocher trapu. Le choeur se termine par un chevet plat.

History
Church of the 12th century (nave), heavily altered in the 15th. Ravaged in 1360 during the siege of the castle, the building was restored and re-vaulted in the early 15th century: seven chapels and a porch were added. The lateral chapels all present a burial recess facing the chevet, a rare arrangement giving the appearance of a walled passage afterwards. The rib vaults bear on their keystones the coats of arms of the lords of Tournemire. The ensemble is completed by a Louis XIV baldachin. Internally, the church possesses Romanesque capitals as well as 15th-century capitals. The church being attached to the mountain, the entrance is made laterally, to the south, by a portal with moulded archivolt. On the reverse of the west façade is placed a wooden gallery to which access is gained by a stone staircase. On the first bay of the nave, rises a squat bell tower. The choir terminates in a flat chevet.
