En 1443, Pierre de Beaufort-Turenne autorisa son vassal, Louis de Charpentier, à construire une tour avec toutes les défenses nécessaires pour résister aux attaques des pillards et des routiers. Condé s'y rendit pendant la Fronde, en 1752, alors qu'il venait d'Agen et se rendait au château de Châtillon-sur-Loing. Cette ancienne construction féodale, conservée jusqu'au niveau de la base de son couronnement, dont subsiste intacte la rangée des corbeaux profilés, est formée d'un donjon sensiblement carré à l'angle nord-ouest duquel fait saillie une tourelle circulaire qui contenait l'escalier à vis desservant les étages.

History
In 1443, Pierre de Beaufort-Turenne authorised his vassal, Louis de Charpentier, to build a tower with all necessary defences to resist attacks from pillagers and routiers. Condé went there during the Fronde, in 1752, when he was coming from Agen and going to the castle of Châtillon-sur-Loing. This former feudal construction, preserved up to the level of the base of its crowning, of which subsists intact the row of profiled corbels, is formed of a substantially square keep at the north-west angle of which projects a circular turret which contained the spiral staircase serving the storeys.
