Historique

History
Of the 13th-century castle, there remains only one of the two square towers, constructed in regular ashlar, lowered by two levels and covered with a four-slope roof resting on false machicolations. Inside, original arrangements and décors have subsisted, including the spiral staircase, the tiled and tomette floors, the window seats, the rib vault of the first storey and an armorial table surrounded by an ogee moulding resting on two corbels with human mask. The rest was destroyed in the 16th and 18th centuries and replaced by an L-shaped main dwelling with classical arrangements. Inside, the fittings date chiefly from the 19th century. In 1335, a chapel was erected near the castle. Of Gothic style, it possesses a choir with ribs vaulted and lit by an opening in the form of a rose window. The castle is integrated into a landscape park furnished with terraces and pavilions of the 17th century.
