Porte provenant de l'ancienne chapelle du château de Mardogne, transportée au début du 19e siècle, témoignage de l'art de la Renaissance en Auvergne. Cette porte présente, sur chacun de ses piedroits, un pilastre surmonté d'un chapiteau ionique, dont les deux volutes s'enroulent de part et d'autre de deux oves. Ces chapiteaux sont surmontés de tailloirs profilés d'un cavet sous trois filets superposés en saillie. Une saillie arrondie décorée de dents-de-scie devait probablement être destinée à recevoir une statuette. Au-dessus du linteau est percée une imposte rectangulaire défendue par une grille formée d'une barre horizontale surmontée au centre d'une petite croix en fer forgé, et de part et d'autre de laquelle sont posés des motifs de ferronnerie terminés en volutes. De part et d'autre de cette imposte fait sailllie une console à enroulements ornée sur le devant d'une large feuille cannelée. Sur ces consoles s'appuie l'entablement formé d'une frise orné en son centre d'une agrafe à enroulements sur laquelle a été sculptée la date de 1808, année de l'intégration de la porte à son emplacement actuel. Une corniche en très forte saillie profilée d'un talon et d'une doucine séparés par un filet termine cet entablement.

History
Door from the former chapel of the château of Mardogne, transported in the early 19th century, testimony to the art of the Renaissance in Auvergne. This door presents, on each of its jambs, a pilaster surmounted by an Ionic capital, whose two volutes curl on either side of two ova. These capitals are surmounted by abacuses profiled with a cavetto under three superposed mouldings in relief. A rounded projection decorated with saw-tooth pattern was probably intended to receive a statuette. Above the lintel is pierced a rectangular impost defended by a grille formed of a horizontal bar surmounted at the centre by a small wrought-iron cross, and on either side of which are placed ironwork motifs terminating in volutes. On either side of this impost projects a console with curling ornaments decorated on the front with a wide fluted leaf. On these consoles rests the entablature formed of a frieze ornamented at its centre with a scroll-pattern clasp on which was carved the date of 1808, the year of the integration of the door to its present location. A very prominent cornice profiled with a talus and an ogee separated by a fillet terminates this entablature.
