Historique
Du château érigé aux 12e et 13e siècles ne subsistent que quelques ruines, suite à l'incendie de 1720 et à la réutilisation des matériaux par les habitants. Ces ruines consistent en un donjon avec l'un des quatre maîtres murs, une cave voûtée, quelques pans de quatre murs principaux au milieu desquels était une cour et une grande tour carrée avec deux voûtes intactes superposées l'une à l'autre. Chaque étage comprend une pièce. Une citerne cimentée avec de la chaux et de la tuile pilée se trouvait dans la cour du château. Le grand mur d'enceinte subsiste en partie, avec son chemin de ronde. Contrairement à ce qui existe dans les tours-donjons de la région, la tour de Mardogne a sa porte d'entrée au rez-de-chaussée et non au niveau de l'étage.

History
Of the castle erected in the 12th and 13th centuries only some ruins remain, as a result of the fire of 1720 and the reuse of materials by the inhabitants. These ruins consist of a keep with one of the four main walls, a vaulted cellar, some sections of four main walls in the middle of which was a courtyard and a large square tower with two intact vaults superimposed one above the other. Each floor comprises one room. A cistern cemented with lime and crushed tile was found in the courtyard of the castle. The large surrounding wall subsists in part, with its wall-walk. Contrary to what exists in the keep towers of the region, the tower of Mardogne has its entrance door on the ground floor and not at the level of the floor above.
