Historique
Ensemble construit de 1662 à 1717 pour Lambert Héron, trésorier de France et receveur général des fermes unies du roi. Portail sur rue, pavillon au nord de l'habitation : 1662 ; corps de logis agrandi et complété en 1701-1702 ; aménagement du potager : 1705-1706 ; réfection et agrandissement de l'orangerie : 1717. La façade sur le jardin se compose d'un corps de logis à deux linteaux encadré par deux pavillons. Le bâtiment est un rez-de-chaussée, entresolé sur la cour. De chaque côté du corps central, mur de briques polychrome bourbonnais. L'orangerie possède également une facture polychrome de briques rouges et noires, assemblées en losanges. Le jardin à la Française comporte un bassin de huit mètres de diamètre et est bordé au nord par une terrasse qui le sépare du potager. A l'intérieur, l'escalier de bois possède une rampe à balustres. La décoration de la pièce la plus importante est en stuc. La cheminée comporte un contre-coeur aux armes de Héron et de sa femme. La demeure, ses communs, l'orangerie et le pavillon du jardinier répartis autour d'un jardin avec parterre à la française sont un intéressant témoignage du cadre de vie provinciale au début du 18e siècle.

History
Built complex constructed from 1662 to 1717 for Lambert Héron, treasurer of France and general receiver of the united farms of the king. Gateway on the street, pavilion to the north of the dwelling: 1662; main dwelling enlarged and completed in 1701-1702; arrangement of the vegetable garden: 1705-1706; repair and enlargement of the orangery: 1717. The garden façade is composed of a main dwelling with two lintels framed by two pavilions. The building is a ground floor with mezzanine on the courtyard. On each side of the central body, wall of Bourbon polychrome brickwork. The orangery also has polychrome brickwork of red and black bricks, assembled in diamonds. The French garden includes a basin eight metres in diameter and is bordered to the north by a terrace which separates it from the vegetable garden. Inside, the wooden staircase has a baluster railing. The decoration of the most important room is in stucco. The fireplace has a fireback bearing the arms of Héron and his wife. The dwelling, its outbuildings, the orangery and the gardener's pavilion distributed around a garden with French parterre are an interesting testimony of the provincial way of life in the early 18th century.
