Historique

History
Former church of the convent of the Carmelites, founded in 1350 on the site of a chapel dedicated to Notre-Dame de Pitié. Building formed of a nave of five bays opening onto side chapels, except the first which forms a narthex, a choir and a polygonal apse. At the end of the 15th century, the apse was provided with side bays in the extension of the chapels, and three naves of two bays each were added to the south. In the 16th century, construction of the bell tower, separated from the façade by a spiral staircase turret. In the 17th century, addition to the west of the choir of a chapel of four bays divided into two aisles. The five bays of the nave, as well as the straight bay of the choir, are covered with rib vaults with wall ribs and a longitudinal lierne. The first bay of the nave features a 17th-century screen. The three sides of the apse open by arches modified in the 17th century during the arrangement of classical-style decoration featuring pairs of Corinthian columns supporting a broken pediment, on parts added during a campaign of works at the end of the 15th century. This is a nuns' choir connected to the original building. This building offers an example of architecture from the early 16th century.
