Historique
La chapelle Notre-Dame est tout ce qu'il reste de l'ancien hôpital Saint-Jacques, reconstruit à la fin du siècle dernier. Après les guerres de Religion, le sanctuaire de Notre-Dame et l'hôpital qui accueillait les pèlerins de Saint-Jacques et les malades, sont confiés aux Dominicains en 1609. En 1610, les Dominicains sont déchargés de l'administration de l'hôpital pour se consacrer à l'enseignement. L'église du couvent fut commencée en 1613. En 1655, le clocher fut reconstruit avec quinze pans supplémentaires. En 1857, le couvent, qui était l'hôpital, fut détruit par un incendie, à l'exception de la porte sous la voûte de la tribune. History
The chapel Notre-Dame is all that remains of the old hospital Saint-Jacques, rebuilt at the end of the last century. After the Wars of Religion, the sanctuary of Notre-Dame and the hospital which welcomed the pilgrims of Saint-Jacques and the sick were entrusted to the Dominicans in 1609. In 1610, the Dominicans were relieved of the administration of the hospital to devote themselves to teaching. The church of the convent was begun in 1613. In 1655, the bell tower was rebuilt with fifteen additional panels. In 1857, the convent, which was the hospital, was destroyed by fire, with the exception of the door under the vault of the tribune. Its reconstruction in 1866 gave it its present appearance. In its western part in connection with the hospital, the chapel spans the road, an arrangement which allowed for the fitting out of a tribune. The building comprises six bays, two of which for the tribune.
