Cette église, qui était l'ancienne chapelle castrale, fut donnée en 1100 à l'abbaye de la Chaise-Dieu. L'édifice comporte une nef, une travée sous clocher et un petit sanctuaire d'époque romane ; les chapelles latérales ont été ajoutées au 15e siècle. Le choeur se termine par un mur plat et possède un sacrarium, ou cavité-cachette, à deux mètres en sous-sol. A l'extérieur, la corniche sud a conservé une rangée de modillons sculptés. L'étage du clocher est monté sur un massif rectangulaire surmonté d'un larmier. Il est percé, sur ses faces Est et ouest, de deux baies en plein cintre, et d'une seule baie sur les deux autres faces.

History
This church, which was the old castle chapel, was given in 1100 to the abbey of la Chaise-Dieu. The edifice comprises a nave, a bay under bell tower and a small sanctuary of Romanesque period; the lateral chapels were added in the 15th century. The choir terminates in a flat wall and possesses a sacrarium, or hiding-place cavity, at two metres below ground. On the exterior, the south cornice has preserved a row of sculpted modillions. The bell-tower storey is mounted on a rectangular mass surmounted by a drip moulding. It is pierced, on its east and west faces, by two round-arch openings, and by a single opening on the two other faces.
