Historique
Cette église appartenait, dès le début du 11e siècle, au prieuré de Sauxillanges. L'édifice se compose d'une nef, d'un transept, d'un choeur semi circulaire, d'une chapelle nord et d'un collatéral incomplet au sud. Le transept rectangulaire est couvert d'une coupole sur trompes formées de petits arcs bandés au-dessus d'une tablette à tranche décorée de damiers et posée sur un modillon décor de feuillages, de têtes ou de dessins géométriques. Les arcs qui supportent la coupole sont reçus sur des colonnes aux corbeilles sculptées de feuillages. Comme la plupart des anciennes églises de cette région, les couvertures des différentes parties sont formées de lauzes et ne comportent pas de charpente.

History
This church belonged, from the beginning of the 11th century, to the priory of Sauxillanges. The building consists of a nave, a transept, a semi-circular choir, a north chapel and an incomplete aisle to the south. The rectangular transept is covered with a dome on squinches formed of small arches sprung above a shelf with edge decorated with checkerwork and resting on a modillion decorated with foliage, heads or geometric designs. The arches which support the dome rest on columns with capitals carved with foliage. Like most of the ancient churches of this region, the coverings of the different parts are formed of stone slates and do not include roof structure.
