Historique
Cette église fut comprise en 1184 par le pape Luce III parmi les dépendances de l'abbaye de la Chaise-Dieu. Avant 1789, la cure était à la nomination du prieuré de Saint-Sauveur. L'édifice possède une abside romane demi circulaire du 12e siècle, percée de cinq fenêtres plein cintre dont les colonnettes extérieures sont ornées de chapiteaux à feuillages. Le reste de l'église romane a été démoli, principalement au 15e siècle, époque à laquelle remontent les deux travées de la nef, le transept sud et le dessus du clocher. Une absidiole d'époque incertaine existe à l'est du transept, et un portique forme porche au sud du clocher et de la première travée de la nef. Le clocher carré est percé, sur chaque face, d'une ouverture en plein cintre. La nef a été surélevée pour être fortifiée.

History
This church was included in 1184 by Pope Lucius III among the dependencies of the abbey of la Chaise-Dieu. Before 1789, the curacy was at the nomination of the priory of Saint-Sauveur. The building possesses a semicircular Romanesque apse of the 12th century, pierced with five round-arch windows whose exterior columnettes are ornamented with leafwork capitals. The rest of the Romanesque church was demolished, mainly in the 15th century, a period to which the two bays of the nave, the south transept and the upper part of the bell tower date. An absidiole of uncertain date exists to the east of the transept, and a portico forms a porch to the south of the bell tower and the first bay of the nave. The square bell tower is pierced, on each face, with a round-arch opening. The nave was raised in order to be fortified.
