Représentatif de la papeterie auvergnate des pentes du Forez et d'une activité préindustrielle qui persista, malgré l'arrivée du continu et de la mécanisation, le moulin de Laga ou de Lagat, du nom du ruisseau qui assure son fonctionnement, était cité en 1773. Les bâtiments actuels, constitués d'un grand moulin en plan rectangulaire à trois niveaux, les deux premiers niveaux en pierre maçonnées avec enduit et le troisième en essentage de planches avec vantaux coulissants, furent édifiés lors de la première révolution papetière, avant l'invention de la machine continue. En 1809, un bâtiment à usage de séchoir, perpendiculaire au moulin, fut ajouté. Celui-ci garde la roue hydraulique verticale métallique à augets, les transmissions, la presse métallique, la calandre et les instruments du séchoir qu'il avait lors de la cessation d'activité en 1960.

History
Representative of Auvergne papermaking on the slopes of Forez and of a pre-industrial activity which persisted, despite the arrival of continuous machinery and mechanisation, the mill of Laga or Lagat, named after the stream which ensures its operation, was cited in 1773. The present buildings, consisting of a large mill in rectangular plan on three levels, the first two levels in stone masonry with render and the third in board sheathing with sliding shutters, were erected during the first paper revolution, before the invention of the continuous machine. In 1809, a building for use as a drying room, perpendicular to the mill, was added. This retains the vertical metal water wheel with buckets, the transmissions, the metal press, the calender and the instruments of the drying room which it had at the cessation of activity in 1960.
