Historique
Maîtres papetiers et compagnons groupés en frairies délibéraient de leurs intérêts au cours d'assemblées tenues au pied de cette croix. Sur un soubassement formé de dalles dont l'une forme sur le devant une sorte de table rectangulaire, est posé le piedestal formé d'un bloc en forme de tronc de pyramide. Sur ce piedestal est encastré le socle cubique, surmonté d'un fût circulaire. Ce fût est mouluré d'un tore à chacune de ses extrémités. Celui de la partie supérieure relie le fût à la croix, dont le montant et les bras sont également cylindriques. Sur la face sud est sculptée le Christ crucifié, vêtu d'une bande d'étoffe nouée à la ceinture. Au-dessus, l'inscription INRI est gravée sur un écriteau aux extrémités enroulées. Sur la face opposée, la Vierge, debout sur un petit socle, tient l'Enfant dans ses bras.

History
Master papermakers and journeymen grouped in frairies deliberated on their interests during assemblies held at the foot of this cross. On a base formed of flagstones, one of which forms on the front a sort of rectangular table, is placed the pedestal formed of a block in the shape of a truncated pyramid. On this pedestal is set the cubic base, surmounted by a circular shaft. This shaft is moulded with a torus at each of its ends. That of the upper part connects the shaft to the cross, whose upright and arms are also cylindrical. On the south face is sculpted the crucified Christ, clothed in a band of fabric knotted at the waist. Above, the inscription INRI is engraved on a tablet with curved ends. On the opposite face, the Virgin, standing on a small base, holds the Child in her arms.
