Historique
Eglise construite par le maréchal d'Effiat qui mourut en 1632 et s'y fit enterrer. Cette église était au départ la chapelle de l'école militaire du régiment d'Effiat fondé par le marquis. Une autre chapelle existait pour le château. En 1905, l'église est considérée comme église communale. C'est un édifice à nef unique comportant un transept et une abside en hémicycle. Le clocher se situe en hors-oeuvre sur le flanc oriental. De section carrée, il présente un toit en dôme surmonté d'un lanternon dans le style du 17e siècle. Toit très plat dans la tradition Auvergne-Midi. Ce monument est le seul édifice d'architecture religieuse de style classique du Puy-de-Dôme, avec l'église des Minimes de Clermont-Ferrand.

History
Church built by the Marshal d'Effiat who died in 1632 and had himself buried there. This church was originally the chapel of the military school of the Effiat regiment founded by the Marquis. Another chapel existed for the castle. In 1905, the church is considered a communal church. It is a building with a single nave comprising a transept and an apse in hemicycle. The bell tower is located off the work on the eastern side. Of square section, it presents a dome roof surmounted by a lantern in the style of the 17th century. Very flat roof in the Auvergne-Midi tradition. This monument is the only building of classical religious architecture in Puy-de-Dôme, together with the church of the Minims of Clermont-Ferrand.
