Ce petit édifice fait partie d'une série de constructions très simples qui ont précédé les grandes églises auvergnates, mais dont il reste peu d'exemples. Cette petite chapelle est formée d'une nef et d'une abside. La nef présente une voûte en plein cintre et est éclairée par un oculus pratiqué dans le mur plat qui la termine. L'abside semi-circulaire est voûtée en cul-de-four et éclairée par deux fenêtres en plein cintre. Le mur est creusé d'une niche rectangulaire, probablement ancienne armoire eucharistique. Le pavement arraché laisse apparaître une salle inférieure voûtée en berceau surbaissé, autrefois utilisée comme cave. Les murs étaient ornés de peintures dont subsistent certains éléments (anges de facture 15e siècle sur le mur nord du transept). Au-dessus de la travée formant transept, qui précède le choeur, devait s'élever un clocher rectangulaire.

History
This small building is part of a series of very simple constructions that preceded the great Auvergnat churches, but of which few examples remain. This small chapel is formed of a nave and an apse. The nave presents a round arch vault and is lit by an oculus made in the flat wall that terminates it. The semi-circular apse is vaulted with a quarter vault and lit by two round arch windows. The wall is hollowed out with a rectangular niche, probably an old eucharistic aumbry. The removed pavement reveals a lower vaulted chamber with a depressed barrel vault, formerly used as a cellar. The walls were decorated with paintings of which certain elements remain (angels of 15th-century workmanship on the north wall of the transept). Above the bay forming the transept, which precedes the choir, a rectangular bell tower was to rise.
