History
In 1290, the Carmelite fathers, established at Clermont on the site of the convent of the Penitent brothers, constructed a church, plundered by the canons of the chapter of Saint-Genès. In 1315 and 1329, the Carmelite fathers built the vast present church whose completion did not take place until two centuries later.
