Historique
Fondé en 1629 par les Dames prieures et réligieuses bénédictines du dit Calvaire de Redon, ce couvent comprend quatre corps de bâtiment fermant un cloître adossé au nord à la chapelle ; celle-ci, datée de 1640 (fronton du portail) , possède deux retables classés Monument Historique. La galerie de cloître communique directement avec le choeur des moniales et la chapelle. Le côté sud du cloître, démoli vers 1830-1835, a été reconstruit en 1875. De nombreux travaux ont été entrepris au 19e siècle, à partir de 1820, date à laquelle la Congrégation de la Retraite occupa le couvent, transformé au moment de la Révolution en caserne, en dépôt de prisonniers espagnols puis en habitation familiale. La porterie donnant sur la rue Saint-Michel a été reconstruite à partir d'un projet de 1893 signé par M. Leray, architecte à Redon.

History
Founded in 1629 by the Dame Prioresses and Benedictine nuns of the said Calvaire of Redon, this convent comprises four buildings closing a cloister attached to the north to the chapel; this latter, dated 1640 (fronton of the portal), possesses two altarpieces classified as Historic Monuments. The cloister gallery communicates directly with the nuns' choir and the chapel. The south side of the cloister, demolished around 1830-1835, was reconstructed in 1875. Numerous works were undertaken in the 19th century, from 1820, date at which the Congregation of the Retreat occupied the convent, transformed at the time of the Revolution into a barracks, into a depot for Spanish prisoners then into family dwelling. The gate lodge opening onto rue Saint-Michel was reconstructed from a project of 1893 signed by M. Leray, architect in Redon.
