Historique
Le château des Granges, reconstruit au début du 18e siècle par une famille de parlementaires, les Le Mintier, est une construction à pavillons d'angle comprenant trois niveaux. Ce fief, relevant de Moncontour, fut le berceau des Le Mintier, en Bretagne, dès le début du 14e siècle ; une pierre portant leur écusson, datant de 1312, le rappelle dans la façade du château actuel. La cour d'honneur, délimitée par des douves, communique avec la cour des communs, dont l'accès est marqué par deux pavillons d'entrée. La chapelle, attenante au château, a été construite au 19e siècle. Le jardin s'étend au nord du château et le parc au nord-est (parc de 14 hectares dont environ trois sont en jardin, vergers et tapis verts, et 11 en parc boisé s'organisant autour d'allées monumentales, d'une pièce d'eau et d'un étang). Ce parc que la tradition orale, le Grand Larousse Volume II et la Gazette illustrée des amateurs de jardins (1914) attribuent à Le Nôtre, a été malheureusement très endommagé par la tempête d'octobre 1987.

History
The château des Granges, rebuilt in the early 18th century by a family of parliamentarians, the Le Mintier, is a construction with corner pavilions comprising three levels. This fief, dependent on Moncontour, was the birthplace of the Le Mintier in Brittany from the early 14th century; a stone bearing their coat of arms, dating from 1312, recalls this in the façade of the current château. This park, which oral tradition, the Grand Larousse Volume II and the Gazette illustrée des amateurs de jardins (1914) attribute to Le Nôtre, was unfortunately very badly damaged by the storm of October 1987.
