Lorsque Hoche arriva à Moncontour, en mars 1795, il séjourna dans la demeure d'un riche négociant, M. Latimier du Clézieux. Cette maison à pilastres et balcons en fer ouvragé a été découronnée de son toit à la Mansard et de son fronton triangulaire dans lequel s'enchassait un cadran solaire. Le décor n'a pas changé depuis le passage de Hoche (salon orné de boiseries ; peintures ; grande chambre au second ; escaliers intérieurs).

History
When Hoche arrived at Moncontour, in March 1795, he stayed in the dwelling of a wealthy merchant, M. Latimier du Clézieux. This house with pilasters and wrought-iron balconies was deprived of its Mansard roof and triangular pediment in which a sundial was set. The décor has not changed since Hoche's visit (salon decorated with woodwork; paintings; large bedroom on the second floor; interior staircases).
