Quintin est une ville forte érigée au 13e siècle sur l'emplacement d'un castrum gallo-romain. Commencé en 1645, le château reste inachevé par ordre du roi en 1662. La ruelle bordée de murs vers l'est, monte dès son passage entre tours, par des degrés et paliers successifs. Le square du haut donne circulation au nord par quelques marches entourées de balustres moulurés, en granit, sur un terrain en pente qu'une rampe à balustres sur un muret borde. L'ensemble boisé témoigne des anciennes fortifications.

History
Quintin is a fortified town erected in the 13th century on the site of a Gallo-Roman castrum. Begun in 1645, the château remains unfinished by order of the king in 1662. The south tower, attached to a covered circular staircase, is finished, unlike its circular neighbour. The alley bordered by walls to the east rises from its passage between towers, by successive steps and landings. The upper square gives circulation to the north by a few steps surrounded by moulded balustrades, in granite, on sloping ground which a balustrade ramp on a small wall borders. The wooded ensemble testifies to the former fortifications.
