Historique
Hôtel particulier et bibliothèque de Paul Marmottan (1856-1932) , historien, collectionneur, mécène et voyageur. L'ensemble est probablement conçu par Marmottan lui-même, avec l'aide de L. Monin, architecte-vérificateur à Courbevoie. Les bâtiments, dont la construction s'échelonne de 1890 à 1927, imitent le style du Premier Empire. Le pavillon du gardien, à façade concave, date de 1924 ; il est signé de l'architecte L. Perin. Le hall d'entrée de la bibliothèque est aménagé par l'architecte Fernand Rimbert en 1927. Private mansion and library of Paul Marmottan (1856-1932), historian, collector, patron and traveller. The ensemble was probably conceived by Marmottan himself, with the help of L. Monin, architect-surveyor at Courbevoie. The buildings, whose construction spanned from 1890 to 1927, imitate the style of the First Empire. The caretaker's lodge, with concave façade, dates from 1924; it is signed by architect L. Perin. The entrance hall of the library was fitted out by architect Fernand Rimbert in 1927. The ensemble was bequeathed to the Académie des Beaux Arts in 1932. The library, devoted to the Napoleonic episode, was restored and enlarged in 1996.
